Notes (English)This rotulus includes two originally separate ilanot that have been sewn together. The first, a sequence of five frames, is a visually striking unicum dedicated to the diagrammatic representation of Saruqian cosmogony inspired by Yaakov Koppel Lifshitz's Sha'arei Gan Eden (Gates of the Garden of Eden, Koretz, 1803). It may thus be compared with the more commonly found K component of Great Trees. Nathan of Gaza's teachings figure prominently, albeit anonymously, in Lifshitz's Sha'arei Gan Eden and find expression here as well. The second ilan is a fine exemplar of a PaZP7 Great Tree.
Notes (Hebrew)מגילה זו כוללת שני אילנות שהיו במקור נפרדים ונתפרו יחדיו. הראשון, רצף של חמש משבצות, הוא יצירה חזותית יחידאית המוקדשת לייצוג דיאגרמטי של הקוסמוגוניה הסרוקיאנית בהשראת ספרו של יעקב קופל ליפשיץ ״שערי גן עדן״ (קוריץ, 1803), ועל כן ניתן להשוותו עם רכיב K הנפוץ באילנות הגדולים. תורותיו של נתן העזתי מופיעות בצורה בולטת (אם כי בעילום שם) בספרו של ליפשיץ ״שערי גן עדן״, ומוצאות ביטוי גם כאן. האילן השני הוא דוגמה מעולה של אילן גדול מסוג PaZP7.
