Summary (English)Oxford, MS Hunt. Add. D. is a particularly fine, early, and well-preserved witness of a family of large manuscript rotuli ("ilanot") to which we have given the name "The Magnificent Parchment." Only one witness (London, BL, MS Or. 6465 Scroll © The British Library Board) carries a colophon, dating it to 1556. The original Magnificent Parchment was likely crafted ca. 1500 in northern Italy. This family of "luxury" manuscripts is distinguished by its grand scale, its graphical richness, and its 33,000 word anthological text.
Summary (English)מגילה זו של שנדוך, שאורכה למעלה מעשרה מטרים, נפתחת ברצף ייחודי ומורכב של תרשימים קטנים - כל אחד אילן ספירות - האמורים לייצג כמכלול את אדם קדמון. שנדוך מציין שכל אחד מ״עשרת הפרצופים השלמים״ שהוא מכיל מורכב מעשר ספירות, וכי דפוס פרקטלי זה ממשיך לאין שיעור: ״וכל ספירה וספירה היא כלולה מעשר עד אין תכלית״. המשך האילן כולל הדמיה של עולם הנקודות הסרוקי, המורכב ממספר דיאגרמות בהשראת פתיחת ״ויקהל משה: של משה גראף (דסאו, 1699). לאחר מכן מגיע סיכום תמציתי של החלק הראשון של האילן, ואחריו ייצוגי שלבי ההאצלה הבאים.
