Notes (English)This ilan, whose author is unknown, is labelled “The Ilan of Holiness” in the title above the Keter of Adam Kadmon, and it is the smallest among the three extant ilanot of this type. The other two ilanot are Cincinnati, HUC, Klau Scrolls 65.2, and a rotulus in the Katsh family collection. The ilan includes distinctive diagrammatic images, which thoughtfully modify Great Tree components, including the representations of Adam Kadmon and Arikh Anpin of Pa. Its Z integrates and expands Z13 and Z14; and its T and W also show significant deviations from their typical forms. Perhaps most significant is the opening of the rotulus, which presents a novel visualization of Saruqian cosmogony (as more commonly seen in the component K). This section includes a long textual unit from Ma'amar Adam de'Atzilut from Moshe Graf's Va-yakhel Moshe (Moses assembled, Dessau, 1699), within which a number of diagrams—a number of them unique—are integrated.
