Notes (English)This ilan is a variation on the “ibn Ẓur” Coppio rotulus (NLI, Ms. Heb. 4°9789). It opens with long texts preceding the diagrammatic images, which include an excerpt from Ḥayyim Vital’s Adam yashar, followed by element V.
The ilan follows NLI, Ms. Heb. 4°9789 in its lower section as well, including two unusual images. The first shows the palm of the hand with its various lines and the caption “the science of palmistry” (ḥokhmat ha-sirtutim). The second is an illustration of a human face with several inscriptions referring to the lines of the forehead, the shape of the nose, and the mouth under the title of “the science of chiromancy” (ḥokhmat ha-parẓufim).
